What is live speech mapping?
You may also hear this called real ear measurement or probe microphone verification. They describe the same gold-standard idea: measuring the actual sound your hearing aid delivers inside your ear canal instead of trusting the manufacturer's software estimate. Live speech mapping is real ear measurement done with real voices, so you can watch the result while someone you love talks to you.
A tiny microphone is placed in your ear canal alongside your hearing aid. Then, while a familiar voice, ideally a spouse, family member or friend you bring along, talks to you naturally, our equipment measures the actual sound your hearing aid delivers to your eardrum in real time, plotted on a screen against your prescription targets.
That closes the biggest gap in hearing aid fitting. Every ear canal shapes sound differently, so identical settings can produce very different results in different ears. Speech mapping shows precisely what your ear is receiving, not what the software assumes.
Why we bring a screen into it
